The Latest bout with the MS is sure taking its toll.  Had a real bad spell starting just before Church on Sunday and am really still feeling the effects as of now.   Oh well.

Trying to get caught up with some of the cleaning this morning, it is really incredible how much damage 7 kittens can do in a few moment!

Started watching a 1961 movie last night "El Cid" starring Charleton Heston and Sophia Loren.   It's about the Christian Reconquista of Spain and Portugal in the 12th century.  Haven't seen it since is was in theaters!   Man I must be old.   Two things struck me in the 20 or so minutes I watched last night.   The first was a speech by the emir of the Muslims from Northern Africa.   He was exhorting his subordinates from Moorish Iberia to be "real" Muslims and to kill all the infidels!   His speech could have come right off of any news broadcast of today and it was written and performed almost 50 years ago, based on words that were originally said over 1,000 years ago!   Wake up Christianity!

The second (and less threatening) thing was the state of special effects in 1961, as the aforesaid leader is riding on horseback to his meeting he comes out of a castle and gallops down a hill in through what looks like hundreds of men and camels....very impressive until you realized that the gathered throngs are all cardboard cutouts!   Really a hoot.

By the way, El Cid is based on real events, the somewhat fictionalized story of a man that united  the Christians of the peninsuala with the moderate moors and drove out the invaders who were bent on conquering the world and even made it into France.

Keep fighting the urge on Facebook to put in something about either "my wife"  or "my impending move to Scotland",  just to see how long it will take people to notice!    Have behaved so far.

Have a couple of scorchers in the forecast for Cordes today and tomorrow!   Been a strange monsoon so far this year.  hasn't rained much but when it has it's been a good "soaker".

Football season is just about here!  Well the game part of it.   ASU plays their first game in 17 days and the Cards play their 2nd pre-season game on Friday. Sigh, life are good.

Well, aside from an addendum that will go in another post  that's about it for this time.
